Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 October 2026. Aistra is provided by Saurabh Arora. Contact: sam.arora@samokash.com.
This policy explains what Aistra collects, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to calculate
your readings and run the app, and we never sell your data or use it for advertising.
What we collect
- Your birth details: full name, birth name if different, date, hour and place of birth, and optionally gender at
birth (only for the feng shui Kua number) and the direction your front door faces.
- Where you are now: optional. If you allow location, we save only the nearest town (rounded to about a
kilometre), never your exact position. Used for sunrise, the best windows of the day and your local date.
- People in your circle: the same birth details for people you choose to add.
- What's on your mind: goals you choose to share, such as buying a home or a new job, used to highlight the best
days ahead for them.
- Calendar events, only if you switch it on: your calendar is read on your phone and only events that look like a
purchase, a move, an interview or contract, a launch, a date or a trip are sent, with just their title, date and start.
Nothing else from your calendar leaves your phone. Switching it off deletes them from Aistra.
- Evening check-ins and about you: how your day felt, whether Aistra was right, any note you add, and your work,
relationship and family stage if you choose to share them. Used to tune your readings to you.
- Things you share into Aistra: a link or text you share from another app. For a link, our server reads only the
page's public title and summary.
- Apple Health and contacts stay on your phone: sleep and steps are read and used on your phone only and are never
sent to us. Birthdays in your contacts are read on your phone, and only the people you choose to add to your circle are
saved.
- Chats with the guide: the messages you send and the replies, so you can see your history.
- Account and device: a random device identifier, a notification token if you allow notifications, and, if you
sign in with Apple or Google, that account's identifier and email address.
- Purchases: whether you have Aistra Pro, confirmed with the app store. We never see your card details.
- Usage within the app: which topics you ask about, which features you open and which notifications you open,
to suggest more relevant questions and send fewer notifications you don't use.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To calculate your chart, readings, compatibility and timings, and to send the notifications you choose
(to provide the service you asked for).
- To keep your account, history and subscription working across devices (to provide the service).
- To keep the service safe, prevent abuse and fix problems (our legitimate interests).
People you add to your circle
Please add people only when they are happy for you to do so. Their details are used only to calculate readings for
you, are never shown to anyone else, and are deleted when you remove them or delete your account.
Who processes your data for us
- Google Cloud, which hosts our servers and database in London (europe-west2).
- An AI language model provider, which receives your chat messages, your recent messages from your other conversations in
the app, your goals and shared calendar events, and the chart details needed to answer them,
and returns the guide's reply. It is not permitted to use them to train its models.
- RevenueCat, Apple and Google, for subscriptions and sign-in.
- Expo, Apple and Google, to deliver notifications to your device.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. When they do, they are bound by safeguards such as the UK
International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent contractual protections.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. Chat history keeps your most recent 60 messages per conversation.
When you delete your account, your profiles, circle, chats and settings are deleted from our database straight away,
and from backups within 35 days.
Your rights
You can see and correct your details in the app, and delete everything with Settings > Delete all my data.
Under UK and EU data protection law you can also ask us for a copy of your data, to restrict or object to processing,
or to move your data elsewhere, by emailing us. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office
(ico.org.uk) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.
Children
Aistra is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change applies.
